I came across some great inspirational quotes here.

Here are a few of them (taken from the link above) which I think are particularly useful for people with ADD/ADHD:

  1. Dear Dr. Kenny,

This is one of my favourites:

“The reasonable man adapts himself to the world; the unreasonable one persists in trying to adapt the world to himself. Therefore all progress depends on the unreasonable man.” George Bernard Shaw

  2. Or how about this one, which I just discovered and which seems particularly appropriate on a day when I had to leave work to drive my daughter to school because she missed the bus (again!) even though she was awake and dressed when I left the house in the morning:

“Ever tried? Ever failed? No matter. Try again. Fail again. Fail better.” – Samuel Becket

Sometimes it feels like that is what I am doing. Trying to fail better. At least there was no yelling and screaming on my part this morning. :)

  3. Wow, love the Thomas Edison quote about opportunity looking like work. I’ve always been taught that *I* make my own opportunities and that nothing will come easy. If I go in to something expecting work, it makes it easier and more rewarding than just assuming something will be easy.

  4. Wow, Dr. Kenny and Sarah, thanks so much for sharing these quotes…

I have some of my own.. I’d like to share.. I create poetry and quotes and other types of “one-liners” I’d like to share the ones pertinent to us in the ADHD world.. Ready?? : )

“For it is in silence, that we scream the loudest”… Lisa Cutalo

ADHD stands for: “All Disorganization Has Designation” : ) Lisa Cutalo

ADHD ” All Disorganized Human Beings Deserve a chance.”… Lisa Cutalo

Here are some I came up with just for fun… lol : )

ADHD ” Warning”!! ” Actively Dealing with Heavy duty Disorganization” ..

ADHD stands for ” Animated Dynamic Hell raiser Disorder” hahahah lol

  5. Terrific compilation buddy. The last one by Albert Szent-Gyorgyi is particularly to my liking. Let me share some of my personal favorites:

The secret of joy in work is contained in one word – excellence. To know how to do something well is to enjoy it.
    ~ Pearl S. Buck.

The world is moved along, not only by the mighty shoves of its heroes, but also by the aggregate of tiny pushes of each honest worker.
    ~ Helen Keller.
